Baking and Business

Now that the real work has begun, so has the balance between being a momma and mompreneur. It's easy to just turn the TV on and get work done while Mila's watching Daniel Tiger and Mickey Mouse, but I start to feel bad. I don't know why, but I feel like I need to constantly be entertaining her, which can be draining. I see nothing wrong with her watching TV so I can get some work done (sometimes) since I'm working on something that'll hopefully benefit our future, but I also don't want to be labeled as "one of those" parents, and we all know, some parents are so good at putting labels on others. I'm sure I'm guilty of labeling a time or two myself. Part of me doesn't care, but the other part of me feels bad. I know it's not everyday, but this past week I felt a little guilty that I was spending so much time on the phone and behind my computer. I must say, Mila wasn't making things easy for me though. We've been co-sleeping for quite some time and are in the process of getting her to sleep in her crib and it has NOT been easy! Most nights, I end up laying with her and fall asleep, and I know all the moms are with me when I say THIS SUCKS! Not only is bed time my time, but this is the best time to work!

After a couple days of spending most of my day working, I was able to get a lot done and spent the rest of the week working less and playing more. I even squeezed in time to bake her some Double Chocolate Banana Applesauce muffins (recipe found on Pinterest). My guilt started going away but I know as I get more work, it'll come back. It's definitely going to take some time to figure out how to balance motherhood and working but I know I can do it. Shout out to Sesame Street and Daniel Tiger for making things easier for me by making learning and life lessons fun, they are definitely taking some stress off my shoulders!

Comment below and share with me how you balance the two and any tips you have on sleep training, I'd love to hear from you!
